MIL Skills
Media and Information Literacy for Older Adults and Educators

MIL Skills is a transnational initiative that empowers older adults and adult educators to navigate today’s complex digital landscape with critical awareness, ethical judgment, and confidence. Developed in response to growing disinformation and the urgent need for digital resilience, particularly during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, the project addresses a major gap in media and information literacy (MIL) education across Europe.
Through thoughtfully designed workbooks, training modules, interactive workshops, and a dedicated app, MIL Skills equips its participants to critically assess digital content, detect misinformation, and make informed decisions in the online space. The program redefines lifelong learning by ensuring older citizens are not left behind in the digital transition.
For educators and adult learning professionals, MIL Skills offers a scalable methodology to foster media literacy in intergenerational contexts. Trainers are provided with tools to assess and elevate their learners’ digital competence, strengthening the overall impact of adult education in the information age.
Beyond individuals, the project benefits educational institutions and civil society organizations by expanding their capacities and enabling them to offer high-quality, up-to-date resources in the realm of media literacy and digital citizenship.
By fostering critical thinking and ethical media engagement, MIL Skills contributes to a more resilient, informed, and inclusive digital society — aligned with the European Union’s wider commitment to MIL and digital empowerment across all ages and social groups.
