Novi Hor
An Amateur Choir for Resilience and Connection

In a time of cascading crises and societal fragmentation, Novi Hor offers a gentle yet powerful cultural response. Initiated by New East, this amateur choir brings together local activists, independent journalists, community leaders, and cultural workers—not to perform for applause, but simply to be together.
Novi Hor is not about vocal perfection. It is about creating a safe and empathetic space where voices can rise in harmony despite—or perhaps because of—the dissonance around us. Singing becomes a form of emotional processing, a collective ritual of grounding and resilience, and a tool for rebuilding community.
Through weekly rehearsals and open gatherings, the choir fosters connection, emotional well-being, and a sense of belonging. In a region where civic actors often work under pressure or in isolation, Novi Hor becomes a much-needed pause—a moment to breathe, feel, and sing through the chaos.
Because sometimes, in the face of uncertainty, the most radical act is simply to raise your voice—together.
